HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?

Our advanced Excel HR laser delivers precisely controlled laser energy to targeted hair follicles. The laser then produces thermal energy that is absorbed by melanin (responsible for skin color). The heat from the laser damages the hair follicles and prevents future hair regrowth. In some cases, not all hair is at the same stage of growth and development, so patients may require additional treatments to achieve permanent hair loss. IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PERMANENT?

No, laser hair removal is not permanent, though hair will almost always grow back much thinner and lighter. Effects tend to last up to a year.

HOW MANY LASER HAIR REMOVAL SESSIONS DO I NEED?

The number of sessions a patient needs depends on many factors, like skin type and color, hair color, hair texture, genetics, hair growth cycle, hormones, treatments, etc.

High hormone areas require more sessions than others. The key to a successful laser hair removal treatment is consistency. Sessions should be spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL HURT?

Depending on the area being treated and the amount of exposed hair, the feeling of a laser hair treatment can range from a mild warm feeling to being slapped with a thin rubber band. To avoid this more painful feeling, it is important to closely shave the treatment area right before your treatment session.

CAN ANYONE GET LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

Laser hair removal can be a great option for anyone. Historically, having lighter skin and dark hair tends to most consistently yield ideal results. However, with recent advances in technology and the development of Nd: YAG lasers (Excel HR), even people with darker skin types and light hair can see great results!

Regardless of your skin color or type, the potential for side effects is dramatically reduced if there is no history of abnormal scarring, excessive sun exposure, allergies, or herpes infection. PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

● Avoid excessive sun exposure for four weeks prior (includes spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds).
● Excessive hair over the treatment area should be shaved.
● Avoid skin irritants 3 days prior to treatment (products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, vitamin C/ascorbic acid, astringents, etc.)
● For laser hair removal, avoid waxing the treatment area for 3 months prior to any laser hair removal treatment
